1. What did God teach you this week? How did it transform you?
God told me that I am not alone. The last night that we were at camp, a girl in my group wanted to talk to me and told me that she is going through the exact situation as me. That just made my jaw drop because I was surprised that she told me but really the fact that someone else is going through this and that we can relate to each other and talk about it. I have an alcoholic mother and so does she. I am not alone. I think that this just gives me more hope and comfort that I'm not alone and it gives me a boost to keep on praying and knowing that she will get better..
2. Tell at least one experience you had where you saw the power of God and it touched you.
On Thursday night we all went to the church for worship and when we were done singing the songs one of the girls from our group got a fever and her lungs started to close up and she couldn't breathe. So right there God performed a healing and we prayed and as soon as all of the prayers were said her breathing went back to normal and she was fine for the rest of the night. I saw the power of God there because He healed someone right in front of me. God does take care of you and provides.
3. Tell of one experience where God used you in a powerful way... something that impacted you.
Before dinner Sarah Abel & I were planning to go to the showers together. So I got all of my stuff and met her in her bunk but when I got there one of her bunk mates was very very upset because she found out that her dad was leaving again and she didn't want that and she was just very down. God however used me to be there and comfort her by telling her that I am going through a similar situation. There were about four people in that bunk and we were all able to relate to the situation and help her. Then we all prayed for her and I just gave her and the situation to God and that room was filled with Christ's love and comfort. Also one of the other girls said that she had a vision about this and she knew it was going to happen when I walked through the door. So that made me realize that God used me in a way that I didn't notice. I thought that was pretty cool. Also at worship that night, God was able to use me to help a friend get saved. I prayed with her for a while and the Holy Spirit set her free.
4. What are you going to take home with you? How are you going to be different?
I am going to take home the stories and experiences that God put me in. Everything I've learned and as Pat said to keep climbing the stairs and not be on a roller coaster. I'm going to be different by climbing the stairs—thank you, Jesus!
5. What was your favorite part of the trip? What did you like most?
My homeowner was the nicest, sweetest lady anyone could ever have. She was like your grandmother and friend rolled into one. She believes that it was God and His angels that saved her and her family. She was so grateful for everything we did for her. Even in the little things. I know that I will miss her, but I know that she is a woman of God and that He will provide and take care of her. She did more for us than we did for her.
6. Is there anything else you want to add?
I loved my homeowner, Miss Norma Jean, and tearing up roofs! I am going back to see her again.
7. Why do you want to go on this trip?
I love to serve and work and when I found out that there was going to be a mission trip to Biloxi I knew that I had to go and help them spiritually and emotionally. Helping them rebuild their lives. And also to minister. To help them know God.
8. Briefly give your testimony.
I grew up in an alcoholic household and now when I look back, I was still happy even in the worst situations or conditions. I then realized that God looked out for me, took care of me, and gave me love even when I didn't know who He was or acknowledge Him. In my daily life Jesus helps me make decisions to live the way he has called me to live. To have a loving relationship with Him. To live in His name.
