I went on this mission trip to grow closer to God as well as others in my youth group and to meet new people and grow close to them through Him. Also, to make an impact on someone’s life by helping to make their house better and more sturdy. God sent a messenger to me saying that He has a plan for me and that if I totally devote myself to Christ then He will do incredible things in me and through me; all I have to do is make Him the number one priority in my life. This week God also gave me the opportunity to meet new people and make many wonderful friends, as well as getting to know other people from GZ better. The best part of the trip was working together with people we didn’t really know and getting to know Him through them. I enjoyed working on the roof and being “entertained” by the other crew members. I think my crew had a huge impact on our homeowner (Jerome) because his roof is now many times sturdier than it was and is no longer full of holes. I think that this was one of the most incredible weeks of my life. The Monday night worship and teaching was entirely devoted to worship and prayer. The speaker asked us to go and pray with someone we don’t really know that well, and I did. The person I prayed with told me later that I was an anwser to his prayers, because we both had the same thinkgs on our minds to pray for. During that time of worship and prayer, one of my close friends gave me the simplist yet the most impacting advice I’ve ever received: “Don’t ever let anything get between you and God…EVER! “ And that’s what I will attempt to do.
