1. What did God teach you this week? How did it transform you?
God taught me to have more faith in Him and the way He makes things work out. When VBS first started, I saw the number of kids that were there and how energetic they were and just figured they weren’t going to really pay attention to what was going on or get anything meaningful out of it….boy was I wrong! Kids were memorizing the scriptures each day and reciting them to one another. They knew the answers to all the questions even when we didn’t. The majority of the kids also been saved. I will never doubt the power of God again!
2. Tell at least one experience you had where you saw the power of God and it touched you.
I would definitely have to say that the most powerful God moment was Thursday night when Chrissy Tavel was completely and totally healed of her asthma and allergies!!! This was perhaps one of the biggest life-changing experiences for Chrissy since severe asthma & health issues have been hindering her from doing many things for the most part of her life. The power of the 40 teens and adults praying out loud, in two different languages at the same time was incredible. When Chrissy was able to stand up & take slow deep breaths that completely filled her lungs for the very first time – that was powerful! This was moving for me since I have been so close to her and have seen first hand how much this has hindered her for so many years. I have never before witnessed a healing or taken part in one, and the fact that she is my best friend was extremely moving! Gloria a Dios! Dios le bendiga, Chrissy!
3. Tell of one experience where God used you in a powerful way.
I think God used me this week in the lives of a few girls. It started pouring down rain while going door to door and we were stuck in one particular house for over an hour. What great hospitality!! These kids were so sweet and said they would be coming to VBS. Megan and I both connected with these 2 girls and their mom asked us to come back and visit again. While at VBS on Saturday, both girls accepted Christ in their heart. I really think we touched the lives of these girls.
4. What are you going to take home with you? How are you going to be different?
I will be taking home a new & stronger faith. I will also after this week have a new respect for skirts & cold showers.
