1. What did God teach you this week? How did it transform you?
When we took a tour of the area on Sunday I was looking at the houses and damage with a work mind set. I didn't connect with what had happened here and how it had affected the people here. Through out the week I approached our work sites with a mind set of the work needing done. On Wednesday we spoke with a homeowner who had lost everything in the flood. Yet he had a positive attitude about everything that had happened. He was thankful for our time and the fact we wanted to help and do what we could for him. He had a hope in him that I had missed when we drove around on Sunday. The people are able to hold to a hope of something bigger then them. I am only able to walk away with a small peace of this hope but it is still a piece of hope.
2. Tell at least one experience you had where you saw the power of God and it touched you.
Friday night we had our worship and devotions time out at the beach. The moon was reflecting off the gulf and the wind was blowing. Just standing there you could feel the power of God in his creation.
3. Tell of one experience where God used you in a powerful way... something that impacted you.
Thursday night we had a powerful worship session at a local church. As I prayed God spoke through me to several of the guys on the trip.
4. What are you going to take home with you? How are you going to be different?
For me there is never a easy way for me to think of summarizing how I've changed. I now that I am walking away with more hope in my life and an appreciation for how God has blessed me.
5. What was your favorite part of the trip? What did you like most?
I enjoyed doing the work on the sites and helping those who were in need of help.
7. Why do you want to go on this trip?
To serve.
8. Briefly give your testimony.
I was saved when I was 12. I’ve pursued God since, to know Him and see him work in new ways in my life.
