1. What did God teach you this week? How did it transform you?
God taught me how big He is. He showed me also that it's not all about what He does for us or what He can give us—it's all about Him. We all live & breathe because He created us for a relationship. I want to continue to learn more about His personalities, His intricacies, and His heart from this week on into Eternity.
2. Tell at least one experience you had where you saw the power of God and it touched you.
In the middle of the disaster zone, with homes smashed and torn, I saw a beautiful orange flower, that symbolized—in my mind—hope in the midst of a hurricane. God extended the metaphor later as I was visiting the last home we worked on. The lawn was filled with roses, and we were talking with the owner about them. He said that He buys them for the fragrance, but after a couple of years they lose it. He said when the hurricane came, the fragrance came back. It made me think of how many times we start our fragrant with the love of Jesus, but we get wrapped up in our situations—and a lot of times it takes a hurricane to bring the fragrance back.
3. Tell of one experience where God used you in a powerful way... something that impacted you.
God used me mainly with others in the camp. I was given the opportunity to pray with some awesome people within the camp, and God put me in the right place at the right time.
4. What are you going to take home with you? How are you going to be different?
God is so much bigger than all the petty human stuff we have in our daily lives. I have become more passionate in my pursuit of knowing God's heart.
5. What was your favorite part of the trip? What did you like most?
Worship on the beach where God really revealed Himself more to me.
7. Why do you want to go on this trip?
I feel God’s love for those that were affected by Katrina, I’ve cried his tears, and am so excited He’s given me the opportunity to join Him in what He’s doing in Mississippi.
8. Briefly give your testimony.
Jesus is my air and reason for living. He is constantly showing me new levels to go. He is constantly showing me new levels to go. He immerses me in the river of His love and heals wounds, speaks truth over lies, and shows me more of His face. I got to know Him at about six years old,a dn while the road has been bumpy, I can honestly say it’s been good!
