Hi. My name is Brian Stevens as a lot of you know already. I’m fifteen and I’m a freshman at Avon Grove High School.

I was in a relationship last year for a little over 8 months. It started out very well, and I was happy and what not. Nearing the end of the relationship it just felt like…somewhat of a burden I guess. I mean no offense to her in any way, but I’d rather not be tied down and have to devote my time to one thing except for God. That was (and is) my main focus.

Currently I am not dating, nor do I plan to. The way I see it is that if God wants me with someone he will put me with her. But my theory is this: are you going to get married in high school? Chances are slim. Are you going to get married right after high school? Again, not very likely. So I figure, save yourself the heartache, temptation, and stress of dating until a little later in life; unless you date the Christian way. Doing this should keep the stresses of worldly problems out of the picture.

There are a lot of pressures in the world today, to be with someone. Like in television and just about anywhere there is pressure to be very sexual with your boyfriend or girlfriend. I deal with these pressures from others and the world by trusting in God. If it is in his will for me to be with somebody then I will be. If not, I wont. It’s that simple. The only thing in life to make me feel loved is God and God alone.
