1. What did God teach you this week? How did it transform you?
God taught me to pray about everything and that prayer works. He also taught me how big a difference even the littlest things make to other people. This has touched me the most, that even I can make a difference in someones life.
2. Tell at least one experience you had where you saw the power of God and it touched you.
I experienced God in two main ways this week. The first is just hte amount of hope and faith the people of d'Iberville ahve. It's just incredible, after what they've been through, are able to keep their spirits so high. Some of the people actually can see the Hurricane as soemthing positive, for example one person saw this as a perfect opportunity to remodel their house. God always provides good with the bad. We just have to look for it.
The second was witnessing God's power and the power of prayer. Melissa's stomach was healed through prayer when we all prayed for her. It absolutely blows my mind that it was possible and happened. The Bible says pray about everything, this just confirms it.
3. Tell of one experience where God used you in a powerful way... something that impacted you.
The impact we had on the people of d'Iberville was awesome. THey were so happy to have us there. The littlest things would make such a big difference to them. It was awesome. For my home owner, at one point I changed a light bulb for her and seh was estatic. Then when Frankie, Becca, and I finished hanging the front door, our homeowner almost cried she was so happy. It didn't seem like a ot to me, but it meant the world to her.
4. What are you going to take home with you? How are you going to be different?
The power of prayer and the fact I can touch and make a difference is what I'm taking home with me. This was the experience of a lifetime, a very humbling experience, one in which I have learned and grown in God.
5. What was your favorite part of the trip? What did you like most?
I loved being able to work on my homeowners house and listen to the many stories she has. The time spent helping her was the best.
6. Is there anything else you want to add?.
GOd is absolutely AMAZING!!
7. Why do you want to go on this trip?
I’ve wanted to go help the Katrina victims ever since the storm. I haven’t had the opportunity until now. So I’m seizing this opportunity.
8. Briefly give your testimony.
I have been a Christian most of my life. I turned away for a little a few years back. That helped me to see God in my everyday life. Jesus is my Lord and Savior and is watching over me. He has a plan for me and keeps me on track and has blessed me greatly.
