1. What did God teach you this week? How did it transform you?
mong other things, God taught me that even if I do handle a situation perfectly, if I do it without Him, it is meaningless, and I might as well have just sinned. He said that even my righteousness is rags to Him; no branch can produce fruit by itself; and if the LORD doesn’t build the house, its workers labor in vain. I’m learning to be even more dependent until I disappear and am found only in Him.
2. Tell at least one experience you had where you saw the power of God and it touched you.
Rob Cochran spoke some prophetic words of encouragement, and it melted my heart. I was driven to praise our God, Jealous. I couldn’t keep His words in me, and they had to come out. The words that people spoke to me during worship were all from God, and He used them to glorify Himself.
3. Tell of one experience where God used you in a powerful way... something that impacted you.
On the beach, Drew was about to wrap up, but God had burned His words into my heart. As soon as Drew was about to get Kevin to play the last song, I called out the words God placed on my heart. “God does some amazing things, and what God does cannot be changed except by God….” The Spirit took me from there and the LORD really worked in my simple obedience.
4. What are you going to take home with you? How are you going to be different?
I am going to take home no feeling of closeness, holiness, or righteousness, and that is a real gift of God! I have been changed, but I do not “feel” good. The Spirit is in me, but I have been blessed because He did not leave me a temporary feeling that isn’t part of eternity. When it is simply some day at my house, God still changed me, and I am not dependent on some feeling to love my good and Holy Father.
5. What was your favorite part of the trip? What did you like most?
I liked the fellowship and that God showed His beautiful glory in all my brothers and sisters. The Spirit of our God showed His back to me on this trip, and I still have no “God” feeling or delusion of eternal perfection. The Holy Spirit took off all that easily entangles me, and I feel like nothing happened. Praise the LORD!
6. Is there anything else you want to add?
God alone is holy, and the holiness that He desires is only possible through Him.
7. Why do you want to go on this trip?
I want to serve God and join Him in expressing His love. I do not want to be in any situation if I miss what God wants me to do. I would rather be in the desert with Him than in the Promised Land without Him.
8. Briefly give your testimony.
I was raised in a Christian home, so I don’t recall a time before I accepted that Christ died for me and rose again according to the Scriptures. I cannot describe how God has changed me since in this little box. In my daily life, Jesus means that the wrath of God is not hanging over me. It means I am free from sin, I have been transformed, I have victory, I am forgiven, I cannot be condemned, my name is written in the book of life, I have the Holy Spirit to guide me and intercede for me, I should follow God even to the point of death, I need to love more, I have been given authority and power, and other more wonderful things that cannot fit.
