Why do you want to go on this trip?
As a Christian, I believe it’s important to always be on the lookout for new and different ways to share the faith. The trip will help me to do this and serve the community at the same time.
Briefly give your testimony.
Before I knew Christ, I was the “social outcast”, the shy kid who sat in the corner, nursing a low sense of self-confidence. Family problems worsened my depression to nearly suicidal levels. It wasn’t until an acquaintance of mine brought me to youth group that I began to take Jesus seriously. Now I go to Him for support nearly every day and He has made and developed me into the social, happy person I am.
I went into this trip both wanting to be made more independent and fearing independence itself. God worked on those things behind the scenes, though, as He brought more pressing issues out into the open.
I’ve experienced and witnessed lots of things in D’Iberville. I saw two good friends cry and shriek in pain, joy, and confusion as the Holy Spirit filled them. I’ve learned that a six-year-old’s imagination, a pair of water wings, and a prayer are the only things needed to survive a ten foot high flood. God can be both loving and destructive.
I can’t clearly remember all of the miracles performed this week. Even if I could, to fit all of them here would be impossible. But we shouldn’t worship God for what He does. We should be thankful for these things, but worship Him for Him. That’s what being Christian is all about. That’s what I learned in Biloxi. That’s my testimony..
