1. What did God teach you this week? How did it transform you?
God taught me this week that He is much bigger than sanctuary walls. That He is a big God, full of Love and mercy. He showed me that no matter what happens in our lives he is in control and that He will be glorified in all situations.
2. Tell at least one experience you had where you saw the power of God and it touched you.
Biloxi, MS had a 25 foot storm surge, this means on the beach close to the ocean the water rose and stayed risen for a long period at 25 feet. We were putting insulation in a house that had been completely flooded out and I walked outside of the house and saw a tiny windmill standing in the yard. There were sustained 160 mile per hour winds and the ocean was coming in land at 20 feet/second. This tiny wind mill stood through all of this. It wasn't bend or moved or broken, it lasted the storm. Now I ask the question, how? Houses were completely destroyed, cards were thrown like rag dolls and this little windmill lasted the storm. God touched me and He said, "Tyler, no matter how hard the storms in your life get, no matter how deep the valley, I will be there."
3. Tell of one experience where God used you in a powerful way... something that impacted you.
If you went on this trip, GOd used you. Something that impacted me was the hope that these people had, the faith in Christ that came out in their daily lives. The people of Biloxi need help, but their prayer is not fro professionals, but just men and women who want to give their time.
4. What are you going to take home with you? How are you going to be different?
I don't see how anyone could go on a trip like this and not be changed, God told me in a prayer this week these words, "If they're looking at you then they can't be focused on me." So this is my cry to be different, hold others higher than myself.
5. What was your favorite part of the trip? What did you like most?
Serving and seeing others being blessed by students and adults who love God.
7. Why do you want to go on this trip?
To simply be a servant, proclaiming Christ through all I do.
8. Briefly give your testimony.
I was accepted into Christ’s family when I was 16 years of age and have devoted my life to fulfilling his kingdom. Jesus is my best friend, my Lord and my Savior. By his wounds I am healed of my sin. I turn to him for everything, I am free from sin and I feel great. God is God and I am not.
